Dr. Oz stumbled on a career in television pretty quickly when Oprah gave him an unprecedented vote of confidence, offering him large media exposure through her show and then his own.
An opportunity like this one carries along a lot of pressure for someone with little experience in a new career field.
Dr. Oz didn't let his lack of media knowledge and the pressure of working with a media icon such as Oprah get to him because of a few simple rules he follows. He shared some advice about seizing opportunities under pressure at our IGNITION conference:
"Show up, because most of us don't, we sort of back our way through life. Like T.S. Elliot would say, we drink our life with teaspoons, instead of just gulping it down."
